What school year would any necessary redistricting occur?

Based on the current project timeline, the expected implementation of any boundary realignments would occur in the fall of 2026 for the 25-26 school year.

When will a decision be made on the attendance boundaries for the replacement Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School?

Per our current timeline, the Board of Education is scheduled to approve the Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School attendance boundary in December, 2025.

Does this realignment affect students currently attending Coltrane-Webb as STEM Program Choice students from outside of the attendance boundary?

Students attending Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary's STEM Program from outside the neighborhood attendance zone will not be impacted by the realignment. It will be assumed in the planning process that our current magnet students will remain at CWES STEM and be included in the total estimated enrollment numbers for the new school.

My child is a current 4th grader at Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary. Will he automatically be allowed to stay at Coltrane-Webb for his 5th grade year if we are zoned out of the attendance boundary?

Legacy assignments (rising 5th, 8th, and 12th graders) are determined by the Board of Education and governed by Board Policy 4150, Section F, Paragraph 3 which can be viewed here: https://engagewithccs.com/30145/widgets/105154/documents/72527. Legacy assignments may be a part of the Board's decision-making process when any necessary boundary changes are approved.

    Is this a districtwide realignment?

No. Unlike the districtwide realignment during the 2023 school year, this attendance boundary project is only focused on a single area in close proximity to the new Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School, which is scheduled to open in August, 2026.  The area of focus for this particular realignment can be found on slide 7 of this presentation:  CWES Data Framing Presentation for BOE 10-6-25.pdf.
