Cabarrus County Schools is undergoing the process of reviewing and adjusting elementary school attendance boundaries in preparation for the opening of the replacement Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School in the fall of 2026.
This realignment is necessary to ensure that student enrollment is balanced, facilities are utilized effectively, and families are best served by the new school. The process will include opportunities for community input and will be guided by the district’s commitment to maintaining equitable access to high-quality educational experiences for all students.
Please see below for a community "Question and Answer" feature where you can submit your questions to District leadership.

Thank you for your question. We appreciate your participation and input. Legacy assignments (rising 5th, 8th, and 12th graders) are determined by the Board of Education and governed by Board Policy 4150, Section F, Paragraph 3 which can be viewed here: https://engagewithccs.com/30145/widgets/105154/documents/72527. Legacy assignments may be a part of the Board's decision-making process when any necessary boundary changes are approved later this year.

Thank you for your question. Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary School is a traditional K-5 school that integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles into its standard curriculum.
